Caffi Meinir at Nant Gwrtheyrn

If you are staying at Gors-lwyd, Caffi Meinir at Nant Gwrtheyrn is a brilliant place to have a spot of breakfast or lunch, and it’s only a stone’s throw from your holiday cottage. Whether you walk or drive to Nant Gwrtheyrn, you will be blessed with stunning views. Nant Gwrtheyrn is now a Welsh Language Learning Centre, but the café and amenities are open to everyone. Caffi Meinir is second to none, take a seat in the conservatory and enjoy the views of the sea and mountains, see if you can spot the wild goats (!)
Take a look at our “Walks on the Llŷn Peninsula” page for details of the walk – it is definitely worth a visit, although the walking back up the road from Nant Gwrtheyrn is very steep!

THE CLIFFS INN,
MORFA NEFYN

The Cliffs Inn at Morfa Nefyn is a family friendly pub, a stone’s throw from the beach. Serving delicious food throughout the day, it’s definitely worth a visit.
The outside seating area has spectacular views of Morfa Nefyn beach, Porthdinllaen and Yr Eifl. The food is always fresh and locally sourced and as such, the menus change every couple of weeks or so. Weekly lunch and evening meal offers run through the week.
The pub is popular all year round and in summer it’s definitely worth booking a table.

NEFYN

Bryn Cynan Inn Nefyn

The Bryncynan Inn is the closest pub which serves food.  Situated on the outskirts of Nefyn, it serves good pub food and is recommended for a meal out.  There is a childrens’ play area outside as well as a good-sized car park.  As you enter Nefyn go straight on at the mini roundabout.  Carry on along this long road and eventually you will come to a roundabout where you can see the Bryncynan in front of you.

Glyn Y Weddw Llanbedrog Abersoch Llyn Peninsula North Wales pub grub

The Glyn y Weddw is one of our favourite pubs. A great meal awaits, as well as a log fire. Children are welcome and there is also a good carvery. The Glyn y Weddw is in Llanbedrog – head towards Abersoch and you will see the pub on the left.

Dylan’s Restaurant in Criccieth is fantastic. Being right on the seafront you will have spectacular views. Their good menu is crammed with local food.  Dylan’s prides itself in sourcing only the freshest local ingredients. Local seafood is a speciality and it is a real treat. The Ship Inn is in Edern, a small village not far from Gors-lŵyd. Very popular with our guests, The Ship serves good quality home made gastro-style pub food. A good night out for couples and families – but please be aware that The Ship does not allow children under the age of 10.

The Ty Newydd is in picturesque Aberdaron. Ty Newydd is overlooking the sea and beach. To make the most of the location, you have the option to eat on the terrace and watch the world go by. Wonderful!

PORTHDINLLAEN

Ty Coch Inn Beach Pub Porthdinllaen Morfa Nefyn Llyn Peninsula North Wales

The Tŷ Coch is a must when visiting Gors-lŵyd. It has been voted as one of the best beach bars in the world(!) It is situated directly on the beach of Porthdinllaen, Morfa Nefyn. To get to the pub you have to walk either along the beach or along the golf course. Full details of the walk can be found on our “Walks” page. During the winter it is only open on Saturday and Sunday for drinks only – so definitely worth checking their opening times before you go! Oh, and the Tŷ Coch does not serve chips – just in case you need to know!

BLACK BOY INN,

This has to be one of the oldest pubs in North Wales. Established in 1522 (!) You will find the Black Boy Inn near the castle in Caernarfon.

The Black Boy Inn is a traditional pub serving generous portions of delicious home cooked food. It’s well worth a visit, even if it’s just for a drink. The extensive menu will satisfy all tastes and it is put together to showcase fresh, local food from local suppliers.

Whether it’s a light lunch or an evening meal, The Black Boy Inn offers a warm welcome and good food to those in search of a relaxed and traditionally Welsh experience and environment.
You can book a table for the restaurant area only. If you wish to eat in the bar areas, it’s on a first come first served basis. Please keep in mind that as the Black Boy Inn is so popular, it can be very busy, so pre-plan your visit, or arrive early.

Remember “The Prisoner” series in the 60’s? Then you will remember Portmeirion. A stunning Italianate village designed by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis. The hotel dining room is open every day.  In the afternoons enjoy light lunches, snacks or afternoon tea. In the evenings it has an excellent A la carte menu – reservations are recommended. There is also the choice to dine in Castell Deudraeth which is located within the grounds of Portmeirion overlooking the Victorian gardens. Again, reservations are recommended.
