Gors-lwyd in the Llyn Peninsula of North Wales, is the perfect cottage for a peaceful holiday in tranquil surroundings, with magnificent views. The property itself is better than the description, very pretty, very clean, with every appliance one could wish for. The furniture and furnishings are in excellent taste and condition, as is all equipment. The owner provided more than basic supplies, including tea, coffee, bread, milk, condiments, spices, oil etc., and with our first cup of tea after a lengthy journey, welsh cakes with jam – scrummy! The cottage was cleaned, linen and towels changed on the middle Saturday. Bath robes and slippers were also provided – wonderful – it seemed more like an hotel that a self catering cottage. The surrounding area is very beautiful, with fantastic views, lovely beaches (we went swimming in September!), interesting castles, and lots of historic places to explore. It seems to be an area less known than other parts of North Wales, and therefore less touristy – right up our street. Cannot comment on local pubs, restaurants etc., as we ate in every night. Lovely wood burner too to sit round on a chilly evening. Although we are all in our late 70’s, we went on the zip wire in Snowdonia, on every train going, walked many miles – there is plenty to do and see within a fairly small radius. However, a car is essential – or bikes if you are very keen! Highly recommended to all.
